Discover the World Behind the Chip
Microelectronics is at the heart of the digital revolution, enabling everything from smartphones and autonomous vehicles to biomedical implants and AI hardware. At its core are chips: intricately designed, precisely manufactured, and deeply integrated into the systems that power our everyday lives and tomorrow’s innovations.
Are you a bachelor's student nearing the end of your studies and still exploring your specialisation? Or an early master’s student already focused on microelectronics and looking to broaden your horizon and deepen your understanding of the field? The International Summer School on Microelectronics invites you to spend a week diving into the fascinating world of chip design and microelectronics.

Getting to Hannover
Hannover is well-connected by air, rail, and road, making it easy to reach.
By Plane
Hannover Airport (HAJ) offers direct flights from many major European cities. For international participants coming from outside Europe, we recommend booking a flight to a major hub such as Frankfurt (FRA), Amsterdam (AMS), or Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG)—all of which offer multiple daily connections to Hannover.
By Train
Hannover is a major hub in Germany’s high-speed rail network. Frequent ICE and IC trains connect Hannover with cities like Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Munich, and Amsterdam. All trains arrive at Hannover Hauptbahnhof, located in the city centre and well connected to local transport.
By Bus
Long-distance buses (e.g., FlixBus) operate routes from many European cities to Hannover. Most buses stop at ZOB Hannover, located next to the main train station.
By Car
If you are travelling by car, Hannover is accessible via the A2 and A7 highways.
Event Venue: Königlicher Pferdestall
The main venue for the ISSOM25 is the Königlicher Pferdestall, located in the Nordstadt district of Hannover. This historic university building, once part of the royal stables, now serves as an academic venue and event space.
