The Open Science Festival is a joint event of Leibniz University Hannover (LUH) and Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology (TIB)

Location

Locations of the festival:

  • The main event and the panels will take place in the Welfenschloss & Lichthof, Welfengarten 1 (see location)
  • Most of the workshops will take place in rooms around the Lichthof except for three workshops (Reproducibility Hackathon, Open Refine and Reproducible Data Analysis with Python and Jupyter Notebooks) which will take place in the library building right next to the Welfenschloss (see location)
  • The Open Access Escape Room will take in the Villa Simon, Brühlstraße 27 (see location)

Social events:

  • On Monday evening (08/29), the Icebreaker will take place at Villa Simon, Brühlstraße 27 at 6 pm (see location)
  • Tuesday (08/30), the Conference Dinner will take place at 7 pm at Francesca und Fratelli, Calenberger Esplanade 1, 30169 Hannover (see location).
    You can get there via bus (300, 500) or tram (17). The bus stop / tram stop is called “Humboldtstraße”. From the hotel you need to walk to reach bus & tramstop “Steintor”.
